I'm a versatile data scientist and software engineer with 5+ years of experience mining, analyzing, and productionalizing insights from large unstructured datasets. My current role has had me focus on search candidate retrieval and result ranking, both in terms of speed and quality. Some of my core accomplishments include the development of our first result ranking model and the identification of a critical inefficiency in our search queries that, when fixed, resulted in a 40x decrease in response times. My primary interests now lie in search recommendation, data strategy, and knowledge sharing wherever possible. When I'm not working, I enjoy long hikes with my fiance and dog, playing golf, and reading classic science-fiction.
